SEOUL, Mar. 25 (Yonhap) -- The Chungju Jungwon Cultural Foundation in North Chungcheong Province will hold an exhibition titled "Chagall and the 20th Century Masterpiece Exhibition" at its Chungju Craft Exhibition Hall from April 4 to 30.
This upcoming Exhibition will showcase the works of 8 pre-eminent artists by which viewers will be able to explore the art history that extends from the 20th century to the modern era.
Not only will the Russian-French artist Marc Chagall's "The Bride or the Lovers in Flowers," which set an auction record of KRW 2.7 billion, be on display, but also will the American visual artist Andy Warhol's silkscreen engraving "Merrilyn Monroe," the pseudonymous street artist Banksy's flagship engraving "Love Rat," and English painter David Hockney's piece "Swimming Pool Series," as well as the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami's oil painting "Into the Fog."
In addition to these masterpieces, a work by Takashi Murakami, Keith Haring, and George Condo will each be exhibited along with the seven representative figure works by Kaws.
In a corner of the exhibition hall, visitors will also be able to check out and follow the flow of modern art history, starting from French surrealism to abstract de-constructivism, followed by American pop art and art toy culture.
The exhibition will be open for everyone without a fee from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday but will be closed on Mondays.
