SEOUL, Apr. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean horror film “Sweet Dreams Are Made of This,” produced by budding filmmaker Song Min-seok who graduated from Sangmyung University’s College of Arts in 2017, has been invited to the Out-of-Competition section for short films in the upcoming Cannes International Film Festival.

This fantasy thriller follows four friends, who go down to the basement of a cathedral after listening to a tale of a dead body that fulfills wishes, eventually facing an unexpected and chilling experience overnight.

The Cannes Court Metrage for short films invited a total of 485 works that have been produced in more than 40 countries, which included 11 works submitted from Korea.

“It is such an honor to have the film that I have directed and produced myself to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival,” the promising filmmaker said. “I am beyond grateful to my fellow graduates who participated in producing the film together.”
