SEOUL, July 11 (Yonhap) -- Actress Lee Young-ae will star in a KBS drama for the first time in 26 years since her 1999 appearance in "Invitation," the broadcaster announced Friday.
Lee will appear in the upcoming weekend mini-series, tentatively titled "Eun-soo's Good Day," set to air on KBS 2TV in September. The series will also feature Kim Young-kwang and Park Yong-woo.
"Eun-soo's Good Day" centers around a high-stakes story involving a missing bag of narcotics. Lee takes on the role of Kang Eun-soo, a housewife who finds herself in desperate need of a large sum of money.
Kim Young-kwang plays Lee Kyung, an art instructor to Eun-soo’s daughter Soo-ah, while Park Yong-woo portrays Jang Tae-gu, an elite narcotics detective.
The three characters become entangled in a dangerous pursuit over a missing drug bag lost by the notorious smuggling organization Phantom.
The drama will be directed by Song Hyun-wook, known for works such as "Another Miss Oh" and "The Beauty Inside," with a script penned by Jeon Young-shin, the writer behind "Cheese in the Trap."
