SEOUL, Sept. 3 (Yonhap) -- JYP Entertainment, home to K-pop groups Twice and Stray Kids, said Wednesday it will team up with its tech subsidiary Blue Garage to create an artificial intelligence (AI) artist.
The project began with the question, "Can an AI become an entity that calls fans by name and interacts with them?" JYP said its goal is to present a next-generation artist by combining K-pop and K-culture with AI technology.
"We will open a new future of global entertainment through AI artists," JYP said in a statement.
Jung Min-jong, co-CEO of Blue Garage, said, "This is the first attempt to recreate the essence of entertainment through AI. By merging JYP’s unique creative and fan engagement capabilities with AI innovation, we will present another future for global K-content."
To support the project, Blue Garage plans to recruit experts across three divisions: creative and fan engagement, character design and product engineering. The recruitment will cover 17 roles, including scenario writing, music, marketing and 3D modeling.
