SEOUL, August 12 (Yonhap) -- In Hoengseong, Gangwon Province, heavy rain of more than 400 mm fell for four continous days, causing flood damage in various places. However, the Dunnae Tomato Festival will still be held as planned.
Hoengseong county announced on Friday that the 11th Dunnae Tomato Festival will be held at Dunnae Sports Park from August 13 till August 15.
Hosted and supervised by the Dunnae Tomato Festival Committee, this festival will be held offline for the first time in three years.
This year's festival slogan is "Come, Dunnae! Let's enjoy it with tomatoes."
The highlight of the festival, the tomato pool, will be operated once or twice a day during the festival.
In addition, various performances and events including tomato shops and the "K-POP Cool Festival" will be held.
"The heavy rain in Hongseong has been distressing for tomato farms," said Park Myung-seo, the chairman of the festival. "We hope that you'll show support to the struggling farmers by visiting and purchasing the highland tomatoes of Dunnae."
