4th-Generation K-Pop Boy Groups Heat up Globe This Summer: 'Stray Kids, ATEEZ, The Boyz'

SEOUL, July 15 (Yonhap) -- The three iconic K-pop boy bands, widely seen as the 4th generation idol groups, are set to embark on global tours. 

 

On the 15th, the K-pop industry announced that the groups Stray Kids, ATEEZ, and The Boyz will kick off their international tours from July to August, meeting fans across the globe.

 

Stray Kids will launch their world tour, dominATE, next month, covering 12 cities in Korea and abroad. The tour will begin with performances at the KSPO Dome in Seoul on August 24-25 and August 31-September 1, followed by stops in Melbourne, Australia, and Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Future tour dates will include Latin America, North America, and Europe.

 

Ahead of the tour, Stray Kids raised fan anticipation by headlining the I-Days music festival. On July 12, they performed at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, drawing over 70,000 fans and delivering a setlist of 18 songs, including hits like ‘Thunderous’ and ‘MANIAC’. Their new mini-album, ATE, featuring the title track ‘Chk Chk Boom,’ will be officially released on July 19.

ATEEZ will be conducting their North American tour, TOWARDS THE LIGHT: WILL TO POWER, visiting 10 cities across the U.S. The tour began on July 14 at the Tacoma Dome in Seattle, and will continue through August with performances in Oakland, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, D.C., among others. Notably, ATEEZ will perform at New York’s Citi Field, a venue previously graced by stars like Paul McCartney and Lady Gaga, and will make history as the first K-pop boy group to perform at Globe Life Field in Texas, which accommodates around 40,000 spectators.

 

ATEEZ’s mini-album, GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1, released in May, has sustained its position on the Billboard 200 album chart for five consecutive weeks, bolstering their presence in the U.S. music market.

The Boyz began their world tour, THE BOYZ WORLD TOUR: ZENERATION II, with concerts at the KSPO Dome from July 12-14. The tour features performances of hits like ‘MAVERICK’ and ‘THRILL RIDE,’ as well as solo performances with electric guitar and piano. They also gave a first live performance of their new song, ‘Bite Back,’ a hip-hop track with Afrobeat influences and a powerful chorus.

 

The Boyz will perform in 15 cities across North America, Europe, and Asia. Their third Japanese studio album, Gibberish, will be released on July 19.
