SEOUL, Jan. 1 (Yonhap) – The grand prize of the 2021 KBS Drama Awards went to S. Korean actor Ji Hyun-woo(37).
Ji Hyun-woo has won the grand prize at the 2021 KBS Drama Awards, which was held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, from the night of Dec. 31, 2021 to 1 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2022.
The actor played the role of the gentleman Lee Young-guk from “Young Lady and Gentleman,” which is the weekend drama with rating of 35%.
Being surprised when he was named the grand prize, Ji Hyun-woo went up to the stage and said, "Thank you for giving me such a big award," adding, "I think this award is not just for me, but a award that represents the whole team of “Young Lady and Gentleman."
The actor then gave thanks to the fellow actors of the drama, along with the production staffs and Lee Se-hee, his partner in “Young Lady and Gentleman.”
Ji Hyun-woo mentioned, "We are making a lot of efforts to deliver energy and happiness to the viewers" adding, “I will continue to try to be an actor who can keep the hearts of the public warm.”
Following last year, the awards ceremony was held without audience due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection(COVID-19) and Sung Si-kyung, Kim So-hyun, and Lee Do-hyun were the MCs.
