SEOUL,
Nov. 26 (Yonhap) --
According to the agency, the video was released at 11 p.m. Tuesday by Peyo Company, which owns the rights to the Smurfs.
The collaboration video combines the original “God of Music” music video filmed in Budapest, Hungary, with popular animated Smurf characters, along with newly created characters that reflect SEVENTEEN’s unique charm.
Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy Smurf appear alongside the members throughout the video, enhancing the song’s message about a world connected through music.
The three characters also perform the signature choreography of “God of Music” together with SEVENTEEN. Toward the end of the video, a newly designed Smurf character inspired by SEVENTEEN makes a special appearance.
The collaboration was inspired by the fact that both the release date of “God of Music” and the birthday of the Smurfs fall on Oct. 23, and that both emphasize the value of coexistence.
Veronique Culliford, head of Peyo Company and daughter of the Smurfs’ creator Peyo, said, “This collaboration centers on joy and friendship, which align with the Smurfs’ vision of spreading more laughter, happiness and harmony in the world,” adding that her father “would have been proud of this collaboration with SEVENTEEN.”
