SEOUL, January 19 (Yonhap) -- South Korean pianist Lim Yun-chan successfully finished his debut stage in England.
Pianist Lim Yun-chan successfully performed his recital at Wigmore Hall located within London on January 18 (UK time).
Lim Yun-chan who managed to win the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2022 with the title of the youngest pianist to ever win the competition within the 60 years of the competition history took the stage at Wigmore Hall as part of the world tour offered by Van Cliburn Organization offered to the winner of the competition.
Wigmore Hall located within the middle of London which opened in 1901 is a world widely known concert hall, The Wigmore Hall International string quartet competition which takes place at the Wigmore Hall every three years is considered one of the greatest competitions throughout the world.
Lim Yun-chan started off his recital with Willam Byrd’s arrangement of British composer John Dawland, who lived through the era of renaissance, “Lachrimae Pavan.” Composer Willam Byrd who considered as a father figure of British music, managed to arrange “Lachrimae Pavan,” by amplifying the sense of space while distinguishing the harmony between various sounds.

Lim Yun-chan later on performed Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” and Liszt’s “Love Dream” as an anchor pieces.
After successfully hosting his debut stage in London, Lim Yun-chan will continue on with his world tour in celebration of his winning of Van Cliburn International Music competition throughout Europe. Lim Yun-chan plans to host a recital in Italy and Rome in January, and later, on February 2, pianist will perform at the Foundation Louis Vuitton located within Parish France.
