SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Yonhap) -- Director and actor Yang Ik-joon has been accused of assault by a junior colleague, according to police reports on Monday.

The Seoul Seongbuk Police Station said Yang has been booked on assault charges and is currently under investigation.

According to authorities, Yang allegedly struck film crew member A multiple times on the head with a bundle of paper and verbally abused him at a pub he operates in Seongbuk-gu on Dec. 13 last year.

A police official stated, "The complaint was filed on Dec. 30 last year. The investigation is in its final stages, and we plan to forward the case to the prosecution today or tomorrow."

He later showcased his distinctive acting skills in dramas such as It's Okay, That's Love, Queen of Mystery, and Bad Guys, as well as in the Netflix original series Hellbound.
