Jungyup Becomes a Father After 5 Years of Marriage

SEOUL, June 19 (Yonhap) -- Jungyup, 48-year-old member of the vocal group Brown Eyed Soul, has become a father for the first time this month, five years after getting married.

According to the music industry on Thursday, Jungyup’s wife gave birth to a baby boy on the 5th of this month. Both the mother and baby are reported to be in good health.

Jungyup married his partner, who is seven years younger than him, in 2020. The two met at church and held their wedding in the form of a worship service.

Jungyup debuted in 2003 with Brown Eyed Soul and released a number of hit songs such as "Did We Really Love," "My Everything," and "My Story." He also gained popularity as a solo artist with songs like "Nothing Better." In 2023, he formed the band Cosmic Chips and continued his musical career.

Jungyup shared his thoughts, saying, “It still doesn’t feel real and I’m in a daze. Becoming a father a little later in life makes me worry about raising him well and keeping healthy,” and added, “But I’ll just pray with a grateful heart and do my best to raise him well.”
