SEOUL, Sept. 11 (Yonhap) -- A new football team, "FC Shooting Star," led by legendary South Korean football figures Park Ji-sung and Choi Yong-soo, is set to embark on a challenge, which will be featured in an upcoming reality show.
Coupang Play announced on the 11th that it will premiere the original series Shooting Star in November. The show follows the creation of the new football club, "FC Shooting Star," as it competes in the K4 League, South Korea’s fourth-tier football division. Park Ji-sung takes on the role of general manager, while Choi Yong-soo, a former manager of FC Seoul, leads the team as head coach.
The coaching staff also includes Seol Ki-hyeon, former manager of Gyeongnam FC, and retired K-League stars such as Kim Young-kwang, Ko Yo-han, and Yeom Ki-hoon, who will return to the field as players.
The program will be directed by Jo Hyo-jin, known for Running Man and The Zone: Survival Mission, alongside director Hong Jin-hee, with writers Park Hyun-sook and Kim Hye-rim contributing to the project.
