SEOUL, March 16 (Yonhap) -- Actress Jin Kyeong (48) who appeared in the latest KBS 2TV weekend drama, "Oh! Samkwang Villa!" as well as tvN's "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning" mentioned in an interview with Yonhap that both roles were interesting to film at the same time.

In "Oh! Samkwang Villa!", she played Jung Min-jae, a loving housewife who grew tired of living with her husband Woo Jung-hoo while in "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning", Jin Kyeong starred as Hwang Jeong-ah, a mysterious religious leader who possessed transcendent powers.

Through a written interview, the actress explained that "When I was acting as Hwang Jeong-ah, I had a desire to portray a creepy and crazy appearance since it was my first time playing a villain in a drama."

"On the other hand, I wanted to approach the viewers in a friendly manner when I was playing Jung Min-jae. I tried to capture the typical appearance of a Korean housewife so that the audience could relate with my character," she added.

"One of the most memorable scenes in 'L.U.C.A.: The Beginning' was when actor Park Hyuk-kwon, who played Kim Chul-soo, slapped each other in the face. I think that scene was when we maximized our appearances as villains. In 'Oh! Samkwang Villa!' I remember when my character made up with her husband, confessed their true feelings to each other, and shared a warm hug. Actor Jeong Bo-seok who played my husband in the drama had good acting skills so it was comfortable when working with him."

Regarding the fact that both dramas were competitors for the highest ratings, Jin Kyeong said, "I really liked the chemistry with my fellow actors. The overall atmosphere was dark and heavy when shooting for 'L.U.C.A.: The Beginning', but when the cameras weren't rolling, our cast couldn't stop laughing at one another. The set for "Oh! Samkwang Villa!" was also very pleasant and after eight months of filming, everybody knew each other pretty well."

Actress Jin Kyeong debuted with the film, "Oh! Soo-jung" in the year 2000 and celebrated her 21st anniversary of her chameleon-like acting skills this year as she is able to pull off different roles in various drama genres including, romance, comedy, family, and mystery.

"I don't really have any exceptional skills except acting (laughs). There were a lot of difficult moments during my acting career but I think I was able to endure it for a long time with the determination to remain as an actress. Being able to play various characters gives me motivation to keep going and to wonder what kind of character I'll play next is fun to imagine. Life doesn't get boring when I have all of these expectations about my job."
