PKM Gallery to host solo exhibition of Lee Won-woo

SEOUL March 2 (Yonhap) -- From sculptures, installation, performance art to video art, artist Lee Won-woo’s solo exhibition where visitors will be able to witness the ironic but humorous interpretation of our daily lives, will take place until March 25 at the PKM Gallery located within Samcheong dong of Seoul.

The exhibition will showcase 40 of various sculptures which laid foundation on artist’s various well known series alongside list of performance arts Lee Won-woo showcased for the past 5 years,

Artist’s sculptures such as “Diet” which shows inflated piece of collagen, whereas “Light” which showcases heavy rock with the writing Light, “Balance” which written on an unbalanced rock and more brings smile and laughter to its visitors. Artist who stated that he wanted to become a comedian in the past, addressed “These sculptures are the ones who bring joy and laughter to people’s life on my behalf.”

Artist’s series “Air Words” which showcases super mirror with writings “The Sun is An Orange,” “Evening Air,” “Spring Jump” and more poses a question of how individual thinks of a day and about the season by using various text and colors.

The series “Dreamy Museum” originates from a street performance artist did in 2019 when he was living in Canada. While he was living in Canada, artist decided pull around his artwork by installing wheels as if it’s a luggage.
