SEOUL, May 11 (Yonhap) -- C.A.P of K-pop boy group Teen Top will leave the group, his agency said on Thursday, amid controversies regarding the artist’s inappropriate behaviors during a YouTube live broadcast.
“After going through a long discussion with the members of Teen Top, we have reached an agreement to have C.A.P leaving the group,” the band’s agency TOP Media wrote in a statement. “Teen Top will now be continuing its activity as a quartet, consisting of Chunji, Niel, Ricky and Changjo,” it added.
C.A.P recently faced controversies regarding inappropriate personal behaviors, including smoking and overusing slang while hosting a live broadcast on his personal YouTube channel.
During the live broadcast on Monday, he rather lost his temper at a comment pointing out his smoking on-screen. After reading the comment, he said, “Those who did not once care about me are suddenly saying things to my face because they are afraid that I might sabotage the team since we are trying to come back,” using coarse language.
“It may sound like a bolt from the blue, but I am actually considering staying out of this comeback,” he then added.
Teen Top is scheduled to return to the music scene in July in celebration of its 13th debut anniversary.
