SEOUL October 1 (Yonhap) -- K-pop super star BLACKPINK’s second full length album “Born Pink” managed to stay within the UK’s Official album chart “Top 100” for two consecutive weeks, however the ranking has gone down by a drastic amount.
According to the data released by the chart on September 30 (UK time), “Born Pink” which has topped the “Top 100” previously has gone down to 37th place on chart.
For the first time in history, K-pop girl group BLACKPINK topped the UK’s Official album chart “TOP 100.”
On Official Single Chart “Top 100” two of the tracks by BLACKPINK were included.
The title track of BLACKPINK’S second full length album “Shut Down” managed to stay within the UK’s Official Single Chart for two consecutive weeks by placing 43rd on the chart.
Pre released track “Pink Venom” charted at 61st on the list, keeping its place within “Top 100” for six consecutive weeks.
UK’s Official Chart and Bill Board chart from United States are considered to be two of the most credible and biggest charts within the music industry.
As a female Asian artist, BLACKPINK managed to top both Official Chart and Bill Board Chart proving their fame.
“Shut Down” managed to stay within the biggest music platform Spotify’s “Weekly Top Song Global” for two consecutive weeks by successfully placing 7th on the chart.
The title track “Shut Down” recorded over 29 million streams. Other than the title track, BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” was placed as 13th on the chart which is 8 ranks lower than its previous record.
“Pink Venom” exceeded over 200 million streams within 42 days since its initial reveal, breaking the record as fastest K-pop female artist to have exceeded 200 million streams.
