SEOUL, Nov. 11 (Yonhap) -- Handcrafted traditional Korean artworks, steeped in the dedication of master artisans, will be on display in Argentina, state-run agency said on Monday.

The Cultural Heritage Administration announced that it would host an exhibition titled “Transcendence: Connecting Life, Time, and Space” at the Korean Cultural Center in Buenos Aires from Nov. 21 to 30.

This event aims to promote the beauty and value of Korea’s intangible cultural heritage on an international stage.

The exhibition, presented in spaces inspired by traditional Korean structures such as the sarangchae, anchae, and numaru, will feature a total of 148 pieces, including works by master artisans and skilled successors of 21 designated intangible cultural heritage items.

Highlights include exquisite items like a traditional wedding bojagi (wrapping cloth), showcasing intricate needlework from a recognized sewing craft artisan, and a pen case and paperweight crafted by a metal inlay artist skilled in the art of decorating metal surfaces with fine gold and silver threads. Also on display will be a framed gakgung (Korean horn bow), crafted using water buffalo horn and ox sinew.

A representative from the Cultural Heritage Administration expressed hope that the exhibition would effectively convey the beauty and cultural significance of Korea’s traditional crafts to the Argentine public.
