SEOUL, April 7 (Yonhap) -- The Go-themed film The Match, starring Lee Byung-hun and Yoo Ah-in, maintained its No. 1 position at the weekend box office for the second consecutive week.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office data released on Sunday, The Match, directed by Kim Hyung-joo, attracted over 427,000 moviegoers from April 4 to 6, accounting for 54.8 percent of total weekend ticket sales.

The movie is based on the true story of legendary Go master Cho Hun-hyun (played by Lee Byung-hun) and his protégé Lee Chang-ho (played by Yoo Ah-in), who repeatedly faced off in major finals during the 1990s.

Lobby, a black comedy directed by and starring Ha Jung-woo, debuted in second place with about 100,000 viewers over the weekend, securing 13.3 percent of box office revenue. The film, Ha’s first directorial effort in a decade since Chronicle of a Blood Merchant, follows a startup CEO who begins playing golf to win a government contract.

In third place was the Japanese animated feature Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters – The Last Attack, which drew an additional 60,000 viewers, pushing its cumulative total past 640,000.

Rounding out the top five were Latvian animated film Flow and Bong Joon-ho’s Hollywood sci-fi feature Mickey 17, which each drew around 19,000 viewers (2.6 percent), placing fourth and fifth respectively by a narrow margin.
