SEOUL, July 17 (Yonhap) -- An upper-class marriage information company that deals with conditions other than love. Two women with different desires join as members.

The Netflix original series “Remarriage and Desires,” released on Friday depicts the confrontation between Jin Yoo-hui (Jung Yoo-jin), who does not hesitate to do any evil in order to enter high society, and Seo Hye-seung (Kim Hee-sun), who aims to take revenge on her.

The story revolves around a marriage information company. The members of “Rex,” an upper-class marriage information company, whose membership fee ranges from 10 million won to 200 million won, are all eager to become the bride of “black,” which indicates the highest grade of men.

Seo Hye-seung, who became a member of “Rex” faces Jin Yoo-hui, who begins to actively join the high society to expose her past that ruined her life.

This is because Jin Yoo-hui had an affair with Seo Hye-seung’s deceased husband and is also the one who drove him to death.

While “Remarriage and Desires,” has all the elements of infidelity, revenge, scandals of the upper class, and secrets of birth, it unfolds predictably without any special twists.

Although the attempt to show the high society with the fresh setting of a marriage information company was good, it is thought to be difficult to concentrate because of the lack of probability.

It is difficult to empathize with the setting that Seo Hye-seung confronts Jin Yu-hee for her husband who have cheated on her, or the fact that Jin Yoo-hui was not able to recognize Seo Hye-seung, whom she fought an emotional battle with just because she wore a mask at a party.

The setting where the enviable husbands Lee Hyeong-joo (Lee Hyun-wook) and Cha Seok-jin (Park Hoon) are simultaneously attracted to Hye-seung, while all the other women are competing for men, are also said to be obvious.

Due to the lack of explanation for the character’s setting, the flow of the play is not smooth.

The narrative in which Lee Hyeong-joo, who says “I don’t believe in women” falls in love with Hye-seung, or Ko Ae-ran (Kim Seon-kyung), a secretary of Cheong Wa Dae, betrays the lawmaker Son Pil-yeong, who was her closest confidant, comes all of a sudden.

Although the actors' performances were excellent, but they did not shine because they were buried in old-fashioned and contrived lines.

The scene where the representative of “Rex,” Choi Yoo-seon (Cha Ji-yeon) gives meaningful words to the members while Jin Yoo-hee reveals her desires are enough to bring out the charm of the character, it was not portrayed well.

Jung Yoo-jin, who vividly expressed the vicious and anxious villain, and Cha Ji-yeon, who exuded a soft charisma, managed to save the tension of the drama.
