SEOUL, July 25 (Yonhap) -- Joshua of K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN has released a new rendition of American DJ duo SLANDER’s hit track "Love Is Gone," his agency Pledis Entertainment said Friday.

The original version of "Love Is Gone," featuring vocals by American singer-songwriter Dylan Matthew, was released in November 2019. The song has since accumulated over 600 million streams on Spotify and 280 million views on YouTube.

A self-proclaimed fan of SEVENTEEN, SLANDER proposed the collaboration, believing that Joshua’s version would resonate deeply with listeners.

A member of SEVENTEEN’s vocal team, Joshua conveys the sorrow of the heartbroken narrator through his gentle voice and delicate emotional expression.

“We’re so excited to share this new version of ‘Love Is Gone’ with Joshua of SEVENTEEN,” SLANDER said. “He stayed true to the emotion of the original while bringing a fresh vocal melody and tone that breathes new life into the song.”

Joshua commented, “I’m happy and grateful to be able to sing one of my favorite songs with my own voice. I’ll continue to work hard to showcase my unique musical color through various projects.”

SEVENTEEN is set to kick off their new world tour "NEW_" with concerts at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on September 13–14.
