'Squid Game''s No.199 actor Anupam to pitch first ball for KBO Playoff Semi-final game 2

SEOUL, Nov. 5 (Yonhap) -- Anupam Tripathi of the globally popular Korean original series on Netflix, “Squid Game,” will climb the Jamsil Baseball Stadium mound.

“We have invited actor Anupam to pitch the first ball for the 2^nd round of the KBO Playoff Semi-final against LG Twins to be held today at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium,” said Doosan Bears Friday.

The actor showed fluent Korean playing Ali, an immigrant worker from Pakistan in the series. He gained popularity as the series spread wildly around the world.

He will be up to pitch wearing a uniform numbered 199 which is Ali’s number in “Squid Game.”
