SEOUL October 05 (Yonhpa) -- CEO of the Yonhap News Agency, Sung Ghi-hong signed a memorandum of Understanding with director Kim In-kyu of National Palace Museum of Korea, and chief of Seoul’s Jongno, Chung Moon-hun at the National Palace Museum on Wednesday on a topic regarding on the development of local cultures and promotion of traditional cultures using royal cultural heritage.
Three of the parties all located within the Jongno district in Seoul South Korea, agreed to share information in order to further the plans for the development of the local economy by using the royal cultural heritage.
To start off, three of the institute will be collaborating on installing obejets similar to the square glass light posts used throughout Chosun Dynasty in order to illuminate during the night banquets throughout the districts.
“Installing the light fixtures resembling the square glass lights from Chosun Dynasty within the parameter of Gyeongbokgung Palace, which was the first ever place to have been electronically illuminated in 1887, means a lot.” addressed the director Kim In-kyu during the meeting.
Whereas the chief of Seoul’s Jongno, Chung Moon-hun put emphasis by stating “With help from Yonhap News Agency, and the National palace museum, I hope to create Jongno district where everything from traditional era to post modernistic era co exists.
“I hope the MOU signed by all three parties will work as a gateway to further collaborating on the development of traditional culture within regional areas.” addressed the CEO of the Yonhap News Agency.
