SEOUL, April 12 (Yonhap) -- "I've often heard people call me ‘the unquestionably ideal son-in-law type,” yet I would be particularly happy to earn the title 'the ideal prince type' through this project."
EXO's Suho revealed his aspirations to challenge historical drama acting through MBN's new romantic comedy series "Missing Crown Prince," which will premiere on the 13th. The term 'perfect first meeting pass' refers to an appearance that receives a passing mark in a first meeting scenario.
At the production presentation held at a hotel in Seoul on the 12th, Suho expressed, "I felt burdened by the genre of historical drama. I thought it wouldn't be easy to depict the unique tone of historical dramas and the Joseon era."
"Missing Crown Prince" tells the story of Lee Geon, a prince in the Joseon Dynasty who faces various challenges after being deceived. Suho transforms into the protagonist Lee Geon.

Lee Geon discovers that his father, the highest-ranking official Daebi, is having an affair with someone, leading him to venture into the palace to uncover the identity of the other man, only to be deceived.
This story was inspired by a folk tale where, upon receiving a horoscope predicting that a virgin would become a widow, parents would arrange a marriage to a stranger to prevent it.
Suho explained, "'Missing Crown Prince' is about the life of Lee Geon, and I believe I can showcase various sides of the character."
Having grown his hair long and attended the production presentation, Suho shared, "I was growing my hair for a new album. I thought it would be great to appear in a historical drama where I can tie up my long hair, and then I received a proposal for this work, making me feel like it was fate." He added, "I postponed the album release to film this project."
Hong Eui-ji plays Choi Myeong-yoon, the daughter of a physician to the king, who is destined to become a widow. Kim Ju-hun takes on the role of Myeong-yoon's father, Choi Sang-rok, while Myeong Se-bin plays the queen mother. Kim Min-kyu plays Lee Geon's step-brother, Prince Doseong.
Hong Eui-ji, who appeared in KBS drama "Love Song for Illusion," which ended in February this year, commented on her consecutive appearance in historical dramas. She said, "'Love Song for Illusion' and the characters are so different that I could decide to appear in this project." She described Myeong-yoon as a bright and straightforward character that will not overlap with her previous roles.
The 20-episode drama "Missing Crown Prince" will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9:40 PM starting from the 13th.
