SEOUL, July 13 (Yonhap) -- Former girl group April member Lee Hyun-joo, who has caused a stir in the entertainment scene after making allegations that she had been bullied by her ex-members, will resume her acting career with a web drama.
Lee Hyun-joo will make a special appearance in the web drama "Heartbeat Broadcasting Accident (tentative title)," which is scheduled to air in September, according to the production company The Leaders Company on Tuesday.
This drama is about an episode that takes place at a live commerce company, and Lee plays Han Yu-ra, a rival of the main character Yoon Yi-seo (played by Lim Na-young).
"Although Lee feels burdensome to star in a new drama after her incident with April, the actress agreed to make a special appearance because of her loyalty to the production company," said The Leaders Company.
Lee Hyun-joo previously revealed on social media in April that she was assaulted and verbally abused by the members of girl group April. The rest of April's members, however, refuted Lee's claim in a fan community and media interviews.
