SEOUL April 8 (Yonhap) -- Actress Han Hyo-joo expressed her excitement about the upcoming series "Blood Free," saying, "Finally, such a good script came to me, and I was so happy that I wrote about it in my diary that day."

Han shared her thoughts during the press conference for Disney+'s new original series "Blood Free" on the 8th, stating, "After reading the script, I thought it was a clever topic to tackle at this time," adding, "It was a script that made my heart beat."

She also expressed hope for "Blood Free" to receive as much love as "Moving," a Disney+ original series that gained popularity last year, in which Han starred as a superhuman.

"Blood Free" is a sci-fi thriller that revolves around the story of Yoon Ja-yoo, the CEO of the biotechnology company BF, and Woo Chae-woon, a bodyguard who deliberately approaches him, based on the premise of BF opening a new era of artificial cultivation. The series depicts mysterious deaths and incidents occurring around Yoon Ja-yoo, as well as the process of unraveling the truths behind them.

Han Hyo-joo transforms into Yoon Ja-yoo, who founded BF at a young age and developed world-class technology, while Ju Ji-hoon takes on the role of Woo Chae-woon, a former soldier turned bodyguard, showcasing various action scenes.

Speaking at the production announcement event, Ju Ji-hoon mentioned his involvement in action scenes, stating, "Although my uric acid levels are a bit high, I filmed the scenes well so that viewers can feel a sense of exhilaration."

Directed by Park Cheol-hwan, who helmed Disney+'s original series "Grid" (2022), and written by Lee Soo-yeon, known for writing the scripts for tvN dramas "Stranger" Season 1 (2017) and Season 2 (2020), "Blood Free" will consist of 10 episodes and will be released twice a week starting from the 10th of this month.
