LOS ANGELES, Nov. 28 (Yonhap) -- "Why is BTS good? They try to study their fans. They always make us feel like we’re with them even when we aren’t.”
“They are very good to the fans,” said the ARMYs at SoFi Stadium where super band BTS held an offline concert on the 27th (U.S time)
The fans explained that although the band rose to global superstardom, they still tried to approach to their fans visiting social media pages for Weverse (a fan community).
“"BTS really cares about their fans and tries to help them. They love their fans and always try to give them good things. This is why we support them,” said 19-year-old Cynthia Gonzalez with two friends who were at the stadium for the concert.
"BTS always tries to give fans the same inspiration they feel through melodies and lyrics,” added the fans.
This is their first time to attend a BTS’ concert. Wearing a purple mask that symbolizes BTS, they stood in line for over an hour to buy MD (goods). They said that they wanted to let the band feel that ARMYs have come for them.
"They changed everyone's lives in a unique way," Gonzalez said. "BTS has given us a lot of positive energy in our lives."
"I had a difficult time with the COVID-19 infection, but BTS helped me overcome this and calm down. I met a lot of new friends through BTS," said Victoria Oria (27), who flew from New Jersey by plane.
When asked if the language barrier was a problem, she said, "Even if you don't know Korean, there is a friend who translates videos always waiting on Twitter.”
There were also many ARMYs who visited the concert hall as a family. Sisters Catheron Barragan, 19, and Niji Barragan, 25, jumped in joy after standing in line for hours and succeeding in buying several BTS T-shirts.
"BTS cares so much about their fans. We always get this feeling whenever they perform, talk, or express their gratitude,” said the Barragans
"They have taught a lot of people about kindness and how to understand themselves. Army is like a community that shares life-changing experiences,” added the sisters.
They praised BTS, saying, "BTS is different from American groups in that they use their own body as an instrument through dance instead of using musical instruments."
"We are very nervous because this is our first time seeing BTS," said the Nunez sisters in excitement.
"I recently lost my grandmother due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and BTS helped me a lot in overcoming the grief,” said the sisters.
"It's cool that BTS can express their opinions well on heavy topics that no other American artist would mention," added the Nunez.
Not just ARMYs were interested in BTS.
"After a woman who had to join her friend at the SoFi Stadium you’re my second customer who wants to get to the concert venue. BTS said they should go to the military next year, is that true? Do you have any military experience?” said an uber driver to the reporter in his car.
As nearly 200,000 spectators visited the stadium for the four-day performance, ARMYs could be found everywhere, including those at nearby restaurants and shopping malls. It seems that the performance which became a talk of the town will remain as an unforgettable special event, especially for BTS fans.
“All I want to say to BTS is a thank you. Thank you for remaining humble even after becoming a superstar,” said an ARMY at the concert venue.
