SEOUL, July 5 (Yonhap) -- Pianist Sunwoo Yekwon and Ray Chen will be performing at the Concert Hall of Seoul Arts Center on August 31, announced Master Media on Tuesday.
Born in 1989 from Taiwan, Ray Chen is a talented violinist who won the Yehudi Menu Competition in 2008 and the Queen Elizabeth Competition in 2009.
Communicating openly with fans on social media, he is called as “21st Century Classic Musician.”
Studied at Curtis Institute of Music with Ray Chen, Sunwoo Yekwon is a young pianist who is valued at both home and abroad as he won Sendai International Music Competition in 2013 and Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2017.
An Official duo performance for the first time, the recital was finalized 2 years after their previous plan was cancelled due to the spread of COVID-19.
The performance which consists of representative sonatas from the Romantic era, Grieg's Violin Sonatas No. 2 and composer Fulank and Frank's Violin Sonatas will be played.
