SEOUL, July 15 (Yonhap) -- Lets run off to Taebaek Mountain to see the Milky Way.
Taebaek city located in Gangwon province will be hosting a unique event called “Milky Way tour with photographer Jun Jae-hoon” from July 30 to July 31.
The event will be held on the fields of Taebaek National Training Center of Korean Sports and Olympic Committee.

The city government carefully picked 7 spots to admire the Milky Way, and uses them as a marketing tool to attract more visitors.
Seven of the spots include “Hambaek mountain”, “o2resort”, “Tan Tan Park”, “Taebaeksan National Park”, “Danggol Square”, “Chujeon Station”, “Sports park” and “Yongyeon Cave.”
All seven of the spots are located minimum of 700 meter above sea level, which is at least 2.7 times higher than Namsan. Since the spots are located high up on Taebaeksan, disturbance caused by city lights and pollution will be minimum, therefore people will be able to enjoy the view of the Milky Way.
Most importantly, all of the 7 spots are accessible by motorized vehicle.

Photographer Jun Jae-hoon is very passionate about the subject Milky Way as he opened his first exhibition about the Milky Way in 2016, “The Starry night & Milky Way 2016”
