SEOUL, Nov.19 (Yonhap) — The new drama “Reborn Rich,” which created a sense of immersion with an intense development, began smoothly with around 6% rating in viewership.

According to Nielsen Korea, the viewership ratings of "Reborn Rich,” which first aired at 10:30 p.m. the previous day, was 6.1 % (non-ground paid households).

In the first episode, Yoon Hyun-woo (Song Joong-ki), a secretary who manages the owner risk of Soonyang Group, was shown devoting himself to the family of conglomerates while being insulted.

He is willing to take any risks to cover up the group's illegal activities and evasion, but he eventually dies in a foreign land after being betrayed by an insider of the company.

But Yoon Hyun-woo, who thought was dead, was reborn as the youngest grandson of Sooyang Group CEO Jin Yang-chul (Lee Sung-min) in 1987, raising the curiosity of upcoming episodes of revenge drama.

The drama, based on the web novel of the same name by San-kyung, faithfully follows the grammar of the regression genre in which the protagonist who died unfairly goes back into the past and is reborn.

Above all, the acting of experienced actors caught the eye.

Song Joong-ki delicately acted out the empty-looking expression of Yoon Hyun-woo, who worked like a servant without judging or asking questions, and acted out a perfect action scene when chased by mysterious terrorists.

Kim Nam-hee added tension by playing Jin Sung-joon, the eldest son of Soonyang Group and who looks gentle but is crazy, while Lee Sung-min gave weight to the work as Jin Yang-cheol, Soonyang Group CEO, who has a straight face and does not allow any mistake.

The detailed production also added the fun of watching. The drama depicts the process of Yoon Hyun-woo being killed, falling into the sea, and reborn in the first-person perspective, drawing the responses from the viewers that such a production increased the level of immersion.
