SEOUL, Aug. 31 (Yonhap) -- Actor Cho Jin-woong and actresses Kim Hee-ae and Ryu Hye-young have confirmed their decisions to appear in Wavve's original film "Deadman," the South Korean online video service platform announced on Tuesday.

"Deadman" is a crime mystery thriller that depicts the desperate survival and revenge of a man living as the "dead man" while being trapped in the dark world.

Cho plays Lee Man-jae, who is falsely accused of embezzling a large amount of money and has to live as the "dead man," while Kim plays Lady Sim, a mysterious consultant who controls the political circle of politicians.

Ryu will play Gong Hee-joo, who believes her father was used and killed by Lee Man-jae and plans a revenge.

Director Hah Joon-won, who participated in the scenario of director Bong Joon-ho's 2006 film "The Host," will write and direct the screenplay of "Deadman."

The film will hit theaters and online in the second half of next year, following "Gentleman," starring actor Ju Ji-hoon, which will be released in the first half of next year.
