SEOUL, April 14 (Yonhap) -- Actor Kim Jung-hyun (31) has apologized for his recent private life issues and controversy over his agency.
The actor issued a statement on the 14th and apologized saying, "I have caused controversy over my personal issues and I couldn't fulfill my responsibilities as the leading role and an actor."
Dispatch, a media outlet specializing in entertainment, reported that actor Kim Jung-hyun refused to come in contact with his co-star, Seo-hyun during the production press conference and while filming for the MBC TV drama "Time" in 2018. Kim Jung-hyun eventually dropped out from the drama due to the request of actress Seo Ye-ji, who was romantically involved with the actor at the time.
Regarding this report, actor Kim Jung-hyun explained, "The drama 'Time' was special to me because it was my first time starring in a drama as an actor, however I have caused a big disappointment and pain to a lot of people."
"I still remember the pieces of the production press conference that happened in 2018. I can't forgive myself for how I've behaved and I deeply regret my actions so badly I want to turn back time," Kim Jung-hyun said. "I'll visit each and every one of those who have suffered because of me and apologize sincerely."
The 31-year-old actor also commented on his recent dispute with his agency, O&Entertainment, saying, "I apologize to my agency as well as Culture Depot (Korean drama production company), who was mentioned several times in the controversy over my problems."
Kim Jung-hyun's personal promotion agency stated, "Kim Jung-hyun has been hospitalized for depression and insomnia since he started working as an actor and has recovered his health over the years. However, recently he is back to focusing on his mental health and is being cared for in the arms of his family."
