SEOUL, June 7 (Yonhap) -- Stray Kids have been awarded the 'Global Spotlight Award' at the 'Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2024' (SSFF & ASIA 2024) for their self-produced content 'SKZFLIX', as announced by their agency, JYP Entertainment, on the 7th.
The festival, which opened on June 4 in Shibuya, Japan, is recognized by the Academy Awards and is the largest short film festival in Asia. This year, the festival saw over 4,936 entries from 114 regions.
'SKZFLIX' is a music drama using the track 'Leave' from their 2022 mini-album 'Rockstar' as its background music. The content features Stray Kids members portraying film club members who navigate the challenges of creating a movie.
Expressing their gratitude, Stray Kids commented, "We created fond memories while filming 'SKZFLIX' and are honored to receive this award. We hope to share 'SKZFLIX' with even more people."
This summer, Stray Kids will headline major international music festivals, including 'I-Days' in Milan, Italy, 'British Summer Time Hyde Park' in London, UK, and 'Lollapalooza Chicago' in the U.S.
