SEOUL April 2 (Yonhap) -- The recent airing of the Netflix entertainment program "Physical 100 Season 2 - Underground" has propelled KINTEX, the largest international exhibition center in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, to the forefront as an optimal venue for driving the success of K-contents.

"Physical 100 Season 2" has garnered significant popularity since its release last month, ranking first in Netflix's global Top 10 non-English TV shows category.

Among its standout features is the overwhelmingly grand scale of the set, with the underground mine set being one of the largest highlights of Season 2. The set, which is more than double the size of Season 1, spans a total of 17,120 square meters, equivalent to 2.5 soccer fields.

KINTEX is gaining recognition as a prime location for K-contents production due to its capability to accommodate large-scale indoor set constructions. With an indoor exhibition area alone spanning 108,000 square meters and the ability to withstand a load of 5 tons per square meter, there are virtually no limitations in realizing set designs.

Furthermore, with 10 exhibition halls in the 1st and 2nd exhibition centers, KINTEX offers the flexibility for long-term rentals without being affected by other events.

In addition to "Physical 100," globally acclaimed K-contents such as "Squid Game" and Disney's drama "Casino" have also been filmed here.

KINTEX is not only utilized as a venue for film and drama sets but also as a large-scale performance space. Last year, a concert hall accommodating 30,000 seats was set up indoors for Post Malone's first concert in Korea. In January this year, singer Lim Young-woong's concert utilized three exhibition halls for performances, events, and waiting areas.

Upcoming events include Noel Gallagher's concert in July, Rayna's concert in September, the "GS25 Music & Beer Festival," and "The Glow 2024" among others.

KINTEX CEO Lee Jae-yul stated, "We will spare no effort in providing active support and efforts to ensure that outstanding content spreads worldwide and that KINTEX becomes the premier K-contents filming Mecca."
