SEOUL, June 17 (Yonhap) -- BLACKPINK member Rose is currently in discussions to sign an exclusive contract with The Black Label, a music production company led by producer Teddy. A representative from The Black Label confirmed on the 17th, "We are in discussions with Rose about a contract."
The Black Label is home to artists such as Taeyang, Zion.T, and Jeon Somi, as well as actors Park Bo-gum and Lee Jong-won. Teddy, who founded The Black Label, has a long-standing relationship with BLACKPINK, having produced their albums.
BLACKPINK has renewed their contract with YG Entertainment for group activities, but all four members have decided to pursue solo endeavors outside of YG. Among the members, Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo have each established their own individual labels and are actively promoting their solo careers.
If Rose signs with The Black Label, she will be the only BLACKPINK member to join a traditional agency rather than setting up a personal label.
Rose debuted in 2016 as the main vocalist of BLACKPINK, gaining immense popularity with her unique voice and singing talent. She achieved significant success with her solo single "R" in 2021 and has been an ambassador for several global luxury brands, including Tiffany & Co., Saint Laurent, and Rimowa, making a notable impact in the fashion industry as well.
