WONJU, Jan. 19 (Yonhap) -- The opening ceremony of the Seom River Birch Forest Dulle-gil was held at Chilbong Sports Park in Sanhyeon-ri, Hojeo-myeon, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do on Wednesday.
The Seom River Birch Forest consists of birch trees over 30 years old, and the Dulle-gil is a 4.5km long luxury forest path with road decks and rest areas.
On the road deck along the Seom River, visitors can enjoy the scenery of the fields and rivers, and when entering the birch forest after passing through the pine forest, they can fully feel the mysterious and beautiful white birch tree.
Won Chang-mook, the mayor of Wonju said, “It will be a luxury Dulle-gil for the health and healing of citizens as well as many walking tourists,” adding, "We expect it to be a great help to the development of the tourism industry and revitalization of the local economy in connection with Chiaksan Dulle-gil and Sogeumsan Grand Valley."
