SEOUL, Apr. 12 (Yonhap) -- MMCA (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea) extends the exhibition "Lee Kun-hee Collection: Masterpieces of Korean Art" held in Seoul Gallery for additional two months.
An official from MMCA said on the 12th that "We decided to extend the exhibition until June 6th, which was scheduled to close tomorrow.
"Lee Kun-hee Collection: Masterpieces of Korean Art" opened on July 21th last year. It was originally scheduled to close on the 13th of last month, but the closing date has been postponed to the 13th this month.
MMCA will hold "An invitation from a collector (Translated)", commemorating the first anniversary of the donation of Lee Kun-hee collection, starting from the 28th with National Museum of Korea.
In "MMCA Lee Kun-hee Collection: Masterpieces of Korean Art", visitors can see masterpieces donated by the bereaved family of the late Samsung chairman Lee Kun-hee, including Lee Jung-sub's "Hwangso (The Bull)," Kim Whanki's "Women and Jars" which captures the beauty of Korean white porcelain, Park Soo-keun's "The Woman Who Crushes" which calmly depicts the daily life of dark days, "Peony in Hwaroungjeon" from Na Hye-seok, known as the first female western painter of Korea, "Yellow Walkway (Translated)" drawn by Chun Kyung-ja, a painter with a fiery soul.
