LOS ANGELES, Nov. 28 (Yonhap) -- K-pop giants BTS held its first in-person concert, titled "BTS Permission To Dance On Stage - LA," in two years in Los Angeles on Saturday (U.S. time), meeting fans from all around the world.
Fans were able to enter the venue from 5:30 p.m. after the sun had set in LA. By 7:30 p.m., the concert's starting time, some fans were spotted to be running towards the stadium's entrance at the last minute as well.
The shouting of fans who could not hide their excitement, echoed throughout the stadium while purple-colored lights surrounded the venue. Whenever videos of BTS appeared on the stage's electronic display screen, about 50,000 audiences cheered together in harmony.
While waiting for the concert to start, music videos of BTS' mega-hit songs, including "Dynamite," "Butter," and "Permission to Dance' would play on the screen as well. In response to the videos, fans were seen waving their light sticks to the song and creating stadium waves.
BTS opened the show at 7:50 p.m., about 20 minutes past the initial starting time, with its hit song "ON." When BTS, dressed in white stage outfits, walked on stage, fans couldn't help but to repeatedly scream "Oh my god."
The septet heated up the atmosphere by performing a series of past smash-hits such as "Fire" and "DNA."
Meanwhile, outside the concert venue, fans who could not secure seats inside the stadium, gathered in twos or threes and danced to the songs as well.
A 37-year-old BTS fan who was enjoying the show outside the stadium with her daughter, said, "We're glad to be here because we're having a lot of fun," adding, "I usually enjoy watching videos and listening to songs of BTS with my daughter."
BTS' agency, Big Hit Music, has also installed a large display screen in YouTube Theater, in order to allow fans to watch BTS' performances with the rest of the ARMYs gathered inside the concert venue. The last performance, scheduled to be held on Dec. 2, will be broadcast live online.
