SEOUL, Nov. 26 (Yonhap) -- BigHit Music, the label behind global sensation BTS, announced on Tuesday that Shin Sun-jung, the label's General Manager (GM), has been appointed as its new CEO.

Shin joined BigHit Entertainment, the predecessor of HYBE, in 2010 and played a crucial role in the formation and early development of BTS. She also headed HYBE’s Training & Development (T&D) division and served as BigHit Music’s GM, leading initiatives in talent scouting and refining the debut system for new artists.

Under her leadership, BTS, TXT, and LE SSERAFIM were developed through HYBE’s T&D program, which has become a hallmark of the company's success. Recognizing her contributions, Billboard included Shin in its 2022 40 Under 40 list and the Women in Music executive rankings for her influence in the music industry.

As CEO, Shin will focus on stabilizing and advancing the label's operational systems while spearheading new business expansions.

Shin Young-jae, who has served as BigHit Music's CEO since 2020, will now focus on overseeing HYBE’s multi-label operations in Korea and Japan as the inaugural leader of HYBE Music Group APAC.

BigHit Music currently manages BTS, TXT, and other prominent artists under its roster.
