SEOUL, Apr. 17 (Yonhap) -- BTS is coming back this June.
According to the music industry on the 16th (PDT), on the last day of “BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE- LAS VEGAS” held in Las Vegas, USA, it revealed the date “2022.6.19.”
In the black-and-white video that came out after the last song “Permission to Dance,” the members were shown for a while before the subtitle “WE ARE BULLETPROOF” came out.
Then, the number '2022.6.10' appeared in white on a black background.
In this regard, Big Hit Music, announced through Weverse, a fan community platform, "BTS will come back with a new album on June 10, 2022."
“After their vacation, BTS plans to release a new album that opens a ‘new chapter’ and will also focus on preparing for the concert,” Big Hit Music, BTS’ agency, announced along with the statement that BTS plans to have a long-term vacation.
It has been about 11 months since BTS released an album after “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” were released as digital singles last July. This digital single set a record of selling 1,975,000 copies in the first week of its release.
Although specific information has not been released yet, it is the first new album in about 1 year and 7 months since the special album “BE,” which also had Korean songs was released in the November of 2020.
Big Hit Music announced that they plan to provide detailed information about the album later.
The announced date, June 10, also coincides with their debut date.
BTS debuted on June 13th of 2013 and has held “festivals” and met with fans for a week or two around that day.
Since 2014, BTS held an event under the name “Festa” and released self-produced contents along with self-composed songs. Last year, they held the online fan meeting, “BTS 2021 MUSTER SOWOOZOO” for two days last 13th and 14th of June.
When the news of their comeback was announced, their fans have been conveying their anticipation through social media.
“I literally almost passed out. They’re finally coming back on the 10th of June,” a fan who shared the news on Twitter in English cheered, and a Japanese-speaking fan also expressed her anticipation by saying, “I’m definitely clearing out my schedule on June 10th.”
Meanwhile, BTS finished all 4 Las Vegas performances today.
It is estimated that 50,000 people showed up per show with 200,000 people finding the Allegiant Stadium for their performance. The number of audiences are expected to be much larger if streaming audiences and audiences for “Live Play,” which broadcasted their performance live on a huge screen were added to the number.
BTS thanked “ARMY” (BTS Fans) through Twitter after today’s performance, saying, “Thanks to your love, we were able to hold the precious performance for four days. Thank you for enjoying it with all your heart.”
