SEOUL, Sep. 27 (Yonhap) -- “This album is my most enthusiastically produced work before I regret,” said Key of boy band SHINee about his upcoming 1st mini-album “BAD LOVE” which is to be released Monday.
He said that the album can be expressed in one word ㅡ Key.
“It is filled with what taste I have for music and what I wanted to introduce through music,” said the artist through his agency SM Entertainment.
Key took part in the overall process of producing his 2 years and a half waited solo album coming up with his own ideas for the concept, styling and music video. The production carries the artists’ colors.
The must-watch point of the title song “BAD LOVE” is Key’s facial acting. The artist pictured the confused heart of a man who cannot let go of his love even though that nightmare-like love is ruining him.
Although the singer’s performing to retro-style dance-pop beats is intense, he made the choreography for the climax loose and simple.
The artist also took part in making the lyrics for the side tracks “Saturday Night” and “Eighteen (End of My World.”
14 years have passed since the debut of Key, who still has a boy-like appearance. He gained popularity both in Korea and overseas as a member of SHINee and finished his military service last year.
In February, the band showed that they are still welcome to the K-pop fans making a grand return after a long break due to the military service. At the time, Key became an issue with his unique poses and expressions to decorate the last scene of the band’s stage in music shows. He earned the nickname “Fairy of Endings” (translated) and other singers started to create entertaining ending scenes like him.
“I feel a lot of pressure about how to finish my solo stage,” said the artist. But on his solo concert “Beyond LIVE – KEY: GROKS IN THE KEYLAND” the day before, he filled the stage with his own power by himself.
Key will share various contents such as the introduction of the album and behind-the-scene stories of its production through SHINee’s YouTube channel on the 27th showcasing a live come-back countdown show.
