SEOUL, September 23 (Yonhap) -- Park Jin-young, a producer who successfully produced famous artists such as Wonder Girls, 2PM, and more, will be looking for choir members.

Park Jin-young said during the press conference held virtually for the new reality program "Sing For Gold," "Normal people come together and become special."

"Sing for Gold" is an audition program where several choir teams consisting of normal people compete in "Performance Choir," harmonious songs with fancy choreography. The winning team will be attending the International Choir Competition to be held in Spain.

Jeong Ik-seung, the producer of the program said, "I wanted to introduce diverse ways to enjoy choir" and explained why he planned this program, saying, "I hope this program breaks the cliche of how the score of the judge and the final reward is the end, but for the progress of preparing the stage to shine."

He continued, "Usual audition programs end with the final winner, but we will be dealing with the process of running towards the goal of the world choir competition," "It's not only about the final result and winning, but finishing the race to the final destination will be meaningful," he explained.

Park Jin-young, who was also in the planning process of the program, will participate as a judge.

Park Jin-young talked about him joining another music audition program after "K-pop Star Season 1 to 6." "I would have refused to join the program if it was a similar audition program," and explained, "I feel deja vu whenever I see singers singing, as I've seen too much, but in this program it will be different as the people singing in the choir are normal people."

He added, "Although individuals are not special, they get special when they meet good people for choir." "Our program is not just about singing and dancing, because we are filming real people, so it feels real."

Songwriter Kim Hyung-seok and choreographer Lia Kim will join as judges along with Park Jin-young, and actor Han Ga-in and singer Lee Mu-jin will join as management representatives.

Kim Hyung-seok said, "The biggest strength of a choir is that people harmonize their voices all together. It is possible for just one singer to impress the audience, but it makes drama when it is sung together," he added. " I participated in this program because it is possible to try many things as choirs combined with different musical techniques regardless of the trends."

Han Ga-in said, "The choirs' love for music shone like gold while shooting for the program, and it was really touching to see that." "I cannot explain it in words, but whenever I saw people singing in harmony, it was really heart-warming, and I felt like tearing up."

She continued, "I didn't participate in many reality programs, so I am trying to show different aspects of myself, I think I show a lot of honest reactions."

Han Ga-in said, regarding the fact that "Sing for Gold" is scheduled on Sunday evening and along with KBS's "One Night and Two Days," which her husband is starring in, Han Ga-in laughed, saying, "I hope the audience will give love to both as the two programs are very different, but I still cheer for our program more," and laughed.

The judges of the program said that they would concentrate on how the choir's voices sound in harmony and impress the audience. Park Jin-young said, "Individual skills are also important, but teamwork is the biggest variable," and added, "I thought teamwork was really important when I saw that a team with good skills couldn't beat a team that has been together for a long time."

Kim Hyung-seok also explained, "Chorus is about making promises as a team and expressing them on stage," adding, "I considered the balance of making individuals sound nice while also considering the other's voice important."

The first episode will be released on September 25.
