SEOUL October 19 (Yonhap) -- South Korean tenor singer Son Ji-hoon has won the Viotti International Music competition held in Italia.
According to the SeAH Woo Hyung Lee Foundation on Tuesday. South Korean tenor singer Son Ji-hoon won the Viotti International Music competition held in Vercelli Piemonte Italia on October 15 (Italia time).
Son Ji-hoon performed Doenico Gaetano Maria Donizetti’s “La fille du regiment” and William Tell’s Aria and received 91.6 on contest winning the first prize along with an audience award.
Concorso Internazionale di Musica Viotti started off in 1950 to commemorate the composer and the violinist Giovanni Battista Viottu is held alternately between piano and vocal competition.
Starting with South Korean pianist Lee Mi-joo in 1985 and soprano singer Jo Su-mi pianists Chung Eun-joo in 1996, Son Yeol-eum in 2002, Lim Hyo-sun in 2003 and singer Hong Sung-hoon, in 2004, Lee Jae-sig in 2010, Cho Chan-hee in 2016 won the competition so far.
