SEOUL November 6 (Yonhap) -- The Institute of Korean Traditional Culture will be hosting “2022 The Greatest Korean Dance Odyssey” in hope to list Korean traditional dances to the Unesco world heritage list, on November 9 through 12.
Over 100 of the traditional performers will be taking the stage to perform 35 different pieces such as Buchaechum, Salpurichum (Exorcism Dance) Seungmu (Monk’s Dance)and more in hope that it will be listed within the list of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.
“Korean traditional dance which flows through the history itself, is like an infinite vein of cultural content,” adding “The upcoming performance withholds performer’s desperate want and wish to list Korean traditional dances on to the Unesco’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.” announced the director of The Institute of Korean Traditional Culture, Ahn Nam-soon.
