SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Yonhap) -- An art exhibition that will enable us to appreciate works of worldly popular artists such as Willaim Turner, Claude Monet, Wassily Kandinsky, Paik Nam-june and James Turrell will take place.
The Seoul Museum of Art will hold “Light: Works from the Tate Collection,” an exhibition featuring foreign masterpiece collection from Dec 21st 2021 to May 8th 2022 at the Buk-Seoul Museum of Art exhibition hall 1 2 and project gallery 1 2, announced the museum on the 25th.
The exhibition is a collaboration between Seoul Museum of Art and England’s Tate Modern Musuem to present 110 pieces of artworks of 43 artists looking into light using various mediums.
Visitors can see innovative works such as paintings based on perspective, Impressionism experiments using scattered lights, sculptures using luminous objet and immersive installations.
Including “Candle Light TV” (translated) by Paik Nam June, Turner’s “Shade and Darkness/Light and Color (Goethe’s Theory), “Poplars on the Epte” by Monet, “Swing” by Kandinsky and “Ramer Blue” by Turrell will be on display.
Also, there will be related programs such as lectures explaining the exhibition from an art history’s point of view for adults and workshop going through the concept of light and colors for children and teenagers.
