SEOUL, Sept. 1 (Yonhap) -- K-pop superband BTS' upbeat number "Permission to Dance" has now remained on Billboard's main singles chart for the seventh consecutive week.

"Permission to Dance," which beat the K-pop act's mega-hit "Butter" in July, ranked No. 97, down 31 notches from the previous week on the Hot 100, according to the latest chart released by Billboard on Wednesday.

The song also regained the top spot on Japan's Oricon weekly streaming rankings.

BTS' third English language song was played about 8.97 million times in between the week Aug. 23-29 and topped the chart again in two weeks. The total number of plays for "Permission to Dance" is now at 99.04 million, and is on the verge of surpassing 100 million.

Meanwhile, "Butter" was placed at No. 3 on Oricon's weekly streaming rankings this week.

The summery song, streamed about 7.59 million times during the week, recorded 227.6 million cumulative plays.

BTS broke the record set by popular Japanese singer LiSA with "Homura" (19 weeks), and achieved a new record within 15 weeks, the shortest time in Oricon's weekly rankings, according to Oricon.

Previously, BTS recorded more than 200 million streams in 23 weeks with its hit track "Dynamite."
