SEOUL, June 15 (Yonhap) – K-pop superband BTS’ “Proof,” an album that was recently released, topped Japan’s Oricon daily chart.

The album “Proof” ranked No. 1 on “Daily Album Ranking” by selling 464,000 copies on June 13, according to the latest chart announced by the agency Big Hit Music and Oricon on Wednesday.

The album was also placed No. 1 on the "Weekly Digital Album Ranking" with 9,047 downloads in a week from June 6 to 12.

Considering that the album was officially released on June 10, more than 9,000 downloads were recorded in three days.

The agency said, "It is the first time in about a year that BTS has topped Oricon's Weekly Digital Album Ranking, following the Japanese best album “BTS, THE BEST,” which was released in June 2021.”

It is the group’s ninth record in its career.

The album's title song "Yet To Come" has topped the "Daily Digital Single Ranking" for two consecutive days since the song was dropped on June 10.

BTS' "Proof" is an anthology album that embodies the history of the group that has been active for the past nine years since its debut.

The members recently finished pre-recording music programs as they dropped this album that connects BTS' past, present, and future, but announced through YouTube on Tuesday that they would temporarily pause their group activities.

The agency explained, "BTS will start a new chapter that combines team activities and individual activities. It will be a time for each member to develop through various activities.”
