SEOUL, Mar. 1 (Yonhap) -- The mystery drama "Brain Works," which comically unravels the fresh subject of brain science, has ended with a viewer rating of 4%.
According to Nielsen Korea, a ratings research company on Wednesday, the viewership of the KBS drama "Brain Works," which aired at 9:50 p.m. the previous day, was 4.9%.
In the previous day's broadcast, Shin Haru (Jung Yong-hwa) and Geum Myung-se (Cha Tae-hyun) joined forces to punish serial killer Hwang Dong-woo (Jeong Dong-hwan).
Hwang Dong-woo locks Shin Haru and Geum Myung-se's families in the bathhouse and tells them to participate in the "sympathy game" he created if they wants to save their family. It is a rule that wins if the two people's brain patterns match more than 80% when the same picture is shown.
Shin Haru, who did not know how to think of others, learns empathy by looking back on the moment he spent with Geum Myung-se, and at the last moment, the two's brain patterns match 86% to save his family safely.
In the end, Hwang Dong-woo, who lost, took his own life and the drama ended.
"Brain Works" depicts a bromance in which a genius brain scientist with a "very special brain" and a veteran detective with an "altruistic brain" conduct a joint investigation to open their hearts to each other.
Although the structure is not tight for a mystery drama, it was praised for solving the subject of brain science without heavy weight with comical lines and situation production.
