SEOUL, Feb. 3(Yonhap) – S. Korean actress Go Hyun-jung will transform into a BJ, the Internet streamer, through the Netflix series “Mask Girl.”
Netflix has confirmed the production of “Mask Girl” based on the webtoon of the same name on Feb. 3, and decided to star Go Hyun-jung, Ahn Jae-hong, and Yeom Hye-ran on Thursday.
“Mask Girl” depicts the story of an ordinary businesswoman Kim Mo-mi, who has an inferiority complex about her appearance, getting into an unexpected incident while performing as a BJ every night with the mask on.
The original webtoon drew great attention with messages that sharply point out lookism through its diverse genres of thriller and black comedy.
Go Hyun-jung plays the role of Kim Mo-mi, who dreamed of becoming a celebrity when she was young but is always intimidated due to her appearance that does not match her dream.
Ahn Jae-hong plays Joo Oh-nam, a colleague at work who has a crush on Kim Mo-mi, and Yeom Hye-ran plays Kim Kyung-ja, Joo Oh-nam’s mother who is divorced and only looks towards her son.
The scenario and direction were directed by Kim Yong-hoon, who won the Judge Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam with his debut film "Beasts Clawing at Straws," and it is produced by Bon Factory, which has presented the dramas "True Beauty" and "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim.”
