'GAYO TOP 10' to make comeback in 25 years on YouTube… combines K-pop with virtual stage

SEOUL, Mar. 18 (Yonhap) – KBS’ representative music show “GAYO TOP 10” will make a comeback in 25 years on YouTube.

KBS announced on Friday that it will broadcast its first live streaming of "Virtual GAYO TOP 10" on KBS World YouTube channel on Mar. 25 at 6:30 p.m(KST).

The broadcast will be aired on KBS WORLD TV channel in 114 countries on Mar. 27.

"Virtual GAYO TOP 10" is based on the format of “GAYO TOP 10," which ended in February, 1998, and will be held under the concept of a combination of the virtual world and K-pop artists.

The No.1 artist of the week will be awarded the Golden Cup. Stray Kids, MAMAMOO’s Solar, Brave Girls, CRAVITY, and Billlie are known to be the strong candidates for the Golden Cup of the first episode.

Moreover, the Silver Cup will be awarded through a cover dance battle, and K-pop boy groups Mirae and BLITZERS will compete by each covering Fin.K.L’s “Now” and H.O.T’s “Warrior's Descendant” in the first episode.
