Yoon's approval rating inches up to 30.6 pct: poll
SEOUL, June 3 (Yonhap) -- President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating rose slightly to 30.6 percent from a week earlier but failed to surpass 33 percent for eight straight weeks, a survey showed Monday.
According to the survey by Realmeter and commissioned by a local news outlet, the positive assessment of Yoon's performance rose 0.3 percentage point from the previous week, while the negative assessment fell 0.2 percentage point to 65.9 percent.
The survey was conducted on 2,513 adults from Monday to Friday last week and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points, with a confidence rate of 95 percent.
Yoon's approval rating has seen a declining trend since the April 10 parliamentary elections, dropping from 37.3 percent in the first week of April to 32.6 percent, then further down to 32.3 percent in the third week and remaining below 32 percent in the following six weeks.
In a separate survey conducted by the same pollster on 1,002 individuals aged 18 and over on Thursday and Friday, the approval ratings of the two major rival parties both fell.
Support for the ruling People Power Party dropped 2.1 percentage points to 33.1 percent, while the figure for the main opposition Democratic Party fell 0.1 percentage point to 33.8 percent.
The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, with a confidence rate of 95 percent.
